Bank Street Widening Project

After years of planning and consideration, the Bank Street Widening Project has officially moved forward in the Findlay Creek community.

 

The scope of this project will cover south of Leitrim Road to Blais Road.

 

This project will:

  • Expand Bank Street from 2 to 4 lanes.

  • Add protected design features to signalized intersections.

  • Enhance streetscaping, implement cycle tracks and sidewalks to support active transportation.

  • Improve bus shelter locations and loading zones.

  • Match existing infrastructure with new community growth.

Construction Timeline

April 2026 Update

The Bank Street Renewal Project is entering its final year of construction as the community is seeing improved intersections, an expanded road and a revitalized corridor.
 

Currently, the construction team is working on implementing sewer infrastructure on the east side of Bank Street between Findlay Creek Drive and Rotary Way.


Work planned for this year:

  • Install sanitary sewers and forcemain between Findlay Creek Drive and close to Leitrim Road intersection

  • Widening the east side of Bank Street from Findlay Creek Drive north to the Leitrim Road intersection

  • Upgrades to these intesections

    • Bank Street and White Alder Avenue/Analdea Drive

    • Bank Street and Rotary Way, connecting Barrett Farm Drive to Bank Street

    • Bank Street and Findlay Creek Drive

  • Install sidewalks and cycle tracks throughout Bank Street

  • Implement street lights into the centre median

  • Complete widening of Findlay Creek Drive and implement dual left turn lanes

 

I want to thank residents for their patience as the project enters its third year of construction.

The City is advancing the design for upgrades the Bank Street and Leitrim Road intersection. After this project, the City can begin implementing these much-needed upgrades.
